Jean-Pierre Braganza SS13

For his SS13 collection, Jean-Pierre Braganza collaborated with contemporary artist Zinaida Lihacheva. The merging of Braganza’s sleek yet feminine designs and Lihacheva’s abstract paintings produced a look that that was the epitome of laid-back, modern sophistication.

Black and white was injected with marine blue and the brightest of reds whilst angular, geometric prints were softened by relaxed tailoring and loosely plaited hair.

The collection looked incredible on the catwalk and I fell in love with almost every look, from slouchy trousers to buttoned dresses, jumpsuits to masculine suits. I felt that the prints made the show, they were bold and strong and complimented the garments perfectly.

The perfect combination of fashion and art.

Ones To Watch SS13 Backstage

The Ones To Watch show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout was so unique and exciting as recent graduates Ming Pin Tien, Hana Cha, Charlotte Simpson and Hellen van Rees debuted their womenswear collections at London Fashion Week for the first time. Amazing new talent!

Zeynep Tosun SS13

I came across Zeynep Tonson's collection backstage completely by accident after spotting some interesting hats bobbing along in the distance at Vauxhall Fashion Scout.

When I caught up with them I was greeted by feminine sports luxe looks with a tough edge. Texture was key and appeared in the form of sheer panels, quilted jackets, sequin scarves and leather accents. I loved how the mostly muted palette of white, grey, nude and black allowed the mix of textures and shapes to do the talking.

Corrie Nielsen SS13

The botanical influence from Kew Gardens shone through in Corrie Nielsen’s stunning collection at Somerset House last Friday. Softly structured dresses depicting the shapes and forms of flowers positively glowed in pastel hues of peony, blue and the palest shade of gold.

From the sound of singing birds through to the delicate floral headpieces (courtesy of Emma Yeo) the show was a beautiful landscape of harmony and natural beauty. The final gown was my absolute favourite, a breath-taking wedding dress which enveloped the body in large sculpted petals beneath which a long train gracefully flowed.

After seeing Corrie Nielsen use the subject of flora in such new and unexpected ways, I can’t wait to see what she will produce next.

Dans La Vie SS13 Backstage

A few images I got backstage at Dans La Vie. Oriental prints were toughened up with PVC and checkerboard make-up creating a modern and luxurious feel.
