Grey, taupe & a taste of Divine

A few more of my London Collections: Men illustrations. How amazing is the James Long sweater with Divine printed larger than life on the front?

New Website!

With the snow tumbling down outside my window, it's given me the perfect excuse to get on with updating my website. A big thank you to Daniel who built my Coming Soon page based on my initial design. It's just launched and I'm feeling very happy with it, time for a cup of tea I think!

E. Tautz AW13

A few of my pics from the E.Tautz AW13 show at London Collections.

Orange definitely seems like it's going to be a hit once Autumn comes around, remember those safety-orange Agi & Sam brogues I posted last week? And, I know I've mentioned it before, but there's something I find surprisingly appealing about those dog jumpers you can see in the fifth image. It's not the pooch factor, I'm much more of a cat person and even so I generally wouldn't wear a feline emblazoned on my front. Perhaps it's the perfect balance of ugly and cute that E.Tautz have accomplished so well, or maybe it's simply those big, round, silly puppy eyes.

Who knows.

Either way, I'm definitely pro-humour when it comes to an otherwise serious-looking jumper. During Autumn and Winter there's only so much sombre black and grey I can take!

YMC AW13

Following the backstage images I posted last week I've just got around to editing the catwalk shots I took at the YMC AW13 show at London Collections. Those knits look so cosy!

YMC & E.Tautz AW13 // Backstage

I thought I'd share a few of my London Collections backstage pics from the YMC show on Tuesday and the E.Tautz show on Wednesday. I only managed to snap a few as I had to dash back round to the front so I didn't miss the shows!

Whilst balancing edgy touches with timeless shapes, YMC wove together a collection packed full of brilliantly wearable pieces in the form of perfectly fitting blazers, shirts and cardigans. Creepers, eye-popping plaid and, my favorite finishing touch, peaked berets added a stylish twist.

Known for their Savile Row cutting, the E.Tautz collection was a rather more formal affair. Elegant shapes in a sombre palette of brown and charcoal were punctuated with unexpected pops of colour and pattern including orange plaid and paisley. Not taking itself too seriously, an injection of humor came in the form of an adorable dog motif jumper (will post pic soon!) adding a perfect dose of silliness to the mix!

MAN AW13 // Backstage

As promised here are some of my images from London Collections: Men. The first show I attended  was MAN, a joint initiative between Topman and Fashion East featuring top up-and-coming menswear talent. Astrid Andersen's sportswear pieces with a luxurious twist opened the show. Metallics, florals and velvet updated loose baggy shapes, I particularly liked the addition of gold bottom lips on the models.

Art school graduate Craig Green offered a stark contrast with a simple palette of black and white. Texture was key in the form of distressed fabric, painted stripes and huge wooden headpieces.

My favourite of the three designers shown had to be Agi & Sam. True eccentricity ruled in the form of bold prints, fantastically bright orange brouges and some sweet and slightly sad looking basset hounds.
