Backstage SS13
Just a quick note to let you know that all purchases made from my shop during London Fashion Week won't be posted until 21st Feb. Thanks for your understanding.
In the meantime I'll be updating the blog and facebook with catwalk, backstage and street style pics and illustrations so don't forget to check back.

Giles, Giles, Giles
How amazing was the Giles SS13 collection? I adore a good print and so was in love with the beautiful white horse design nestled amongst swirling greys that adorned a stunning bubble-shaped gown- beautiful!
Unfortunately I didn't get to be there as I was at the Pam Hogg show but Daniel got some amazing images which you can check out on his site here. The make-up looked very natural with any imperfections covered and a simple pop of the brightest pink on lips and nails, a lovely change from the overly 'done' faces I'd seen at other shows. The shoes were adorable little wedges in pink, grey and, my absolute favourite, canary yellow. Now where can I get a pair??
P.S. The lovely people over at Stella Magazine have done a blog post on my London Fashion Week illustrations (including one of my Giles drawings) if you'd like to take a peak.

Phoebe English SS13
The SS13 Phoebe English show got off to a spooky start with identical twins bursting through metal gates as the music began. If I hadn’t been there for the run-through it would have certainly made me jump!
A simple monotone palette allowed the shape of the garments to lead the way- cutaways, volume and ruching were key- whilst hair was subtly rolled to reflect the curved structure of the clothing.
The collection was rich in concept with a strong focus on design and craftsmanship. Designs spoke of growth and regeneration which was reflected through geometric structures, knitted and bugle beading and injections of blue which represented the presence of tailors chalk. Heavy brass jewellery flowered across necks and ears and decorated mouths in the form of mouthpieces (designed by Reid Peppard).
The whole collection created a strange balance between freedom and constriction, at once being simple and neat, yet raw and intricate.
Will post backstage images soon!

Jean-Pierre Braganza SS13
For his SS13 collection, Jean-Pierre Braganza collaborated with contemporary artist Zinaida Lihacheva. The merging of Braganza’s sleek yet feminine designs and Lihacheva’s abstract paintings produced a look that that was the epitome of laid-back, modern sophistication.
Black and white was injected with marine blue and the brightest of reds whilst angular, geometric prints were softened by relaxed tailoring and loosely plaited hair.
The collection looked incredible on the catwalk and I fell in love with almost every look, from slouchy trousers to buttoned dresses, jumpsuits to masculine suits. I felt that the prints made the show, they were bold and strong and complimented the garments perfectly.
The perfect combination of fashion and art.

Ones To Watch SS13 Backstage
The Ones To Watch show at Vauxhall Fashion Scout was so unique and exciting as recent graduates Ming Pin Tien, Hana Cha, Charlotte Simpson and Hellen van Rees debuted their womenswear collections at London Fashion Week for the first time. Amazing new talent!

Zeynep Tosun SS13
I came across Zeynep Tonson's collection backstage completely by accident after spotting some interesting hats bobbing along in the distance at Vauxhall Fashion Scout.
When I caught up with them I was greeted by feminine sports luxe looks with a tough edge. Texture was key and appeared in the form of sheer panels, quilted jackets, sequin scarves and leather accents. I loved how the mostly muted palette of white, grey, nude and black allowed the mix of textures and shapes to do the talking.

Corrie Nielsen SS13
The botanical influence from Kew Gardens shone through in Corrie Nielsen’s stunning collection at Somerset House last Friday. Softly structured dresses depicting the shapes and forms of flowers positively glowed in pastel hues of peony, blue and the palest shade of gold.
From the sound of singing birds through to the delicate floral headpieces (courtesy of Emma Yeo) the show was a beautiful landscape of harmony and natural beauty. The final gown was my absolute favourite, a breath-taking wedding dress which enveloped the body in large sculpted petals beneath which a long train gracefully flowed.
After seeing Corrie Nielsen use the subject of flora in such new and unexpected ways, I can’t wait to see what she will produce next.
